Voice search

Afternoon all.

I have had a G1 in the UK for three months now.And was really pleased however a couple of weeks ago there appeared to be some sort of update (sorry I am not very techie with things like this) Since then I seem to be having a lot of trouble with third party apps and seem to spend more time pressing a force close button. Does anyone know why? Is there a fix for this?

Also I keep reading that I should have some sort of voice search option is this correct?

How to put this in un-techie terms!!

Basically. The software that makes the handset work has been upgraded. Google did inform the developers in advance. But a few decided not to rewrite their applications to work with the new software. Its like trying to play Ps2 games on a Ps3 Or Xbox games on the Xbox 360. They sort of work but are not designed to??? The only fix is for the developers to rewrite the app so its compatible for the 1.5 update!

As for the voice search. This is beginning to p**s me off!!! I have been waiting for this for ages!!! For some reason google dont want to launch it in the Uk! Probably to do with the different types of ''English'' we and the Us speak!

You should get yourself over to the xda-developers website and update your phone with the JF 1.5 update. That will give you voice search. I find it works really well.
