I powered up my phone this morning and it asked me if I wanted to install a Software Update. When I clicked on a button to show me the details, it showed it to be a security update for 1.5.

Anyone else received this or know what issues it is patching?

I got it this morning as well!! I have had a look on the android developers site. There is no mention to it. I have no idea to its use!!

yea i got this one just now aswell. i manually installed cupcake a few weeks back. are you guys on cupcake already?

there is no info on it on google or other android forums.

Same here, i've just picked it up now. Can't see anything different at 1st glance but then I guess if it's a security thing I don't suppose I would.

one good thing i can see out of this update is im guessing we are now two updates ahead of the americans? so if/when donut is released hopefully us G1 users will be the first to get it

I got it about 3 hours ago.

The only difference I've noticed so far, is that they've fixed the software keyboard popping up when entering URLs.

Cupcake:
Menu > Go
Long press address bar
Cut All
Double tap address bar to show keyboard.

Now:
Menu > Go
Single press of address bar
Keyboard appears with previous address still highlighted.

MUCH BETTER!

I also got another firmware update this morning at about 11am. Seems like my 2nd Cupcake update. Its still firmware 1.5. Does anyone notice any changes?? I do agree with garliccheese, the virtual keyboard pops up alot quicker. I don't think much has changed.

If anyone notices any other changes, please let us know.
