The Android 1.5 Cupcake update hasn't reached all G1 owners yet but that wont stop the rumor mill from working, no sir!

The latest Android chatter suggests that the next major update will be Android 2.0 Donut, and will be the version running on all? most? of the new android phones scheduled for released this year.

From what is being circulated, the 2.0 update will be a major update to the platform, and suggests that Android 2.0/Donut will be the first version of the OS that vendors feel ready to appear on their phones (hence why the android phone releases have been somewhat low in number).

We know that the Android 2.0 Donut update will likely add support for WVGA displays, but other than that what features would you like to see?

DarkCloud25 - I'm sorry, I hope your native language is not English 'cause I can't understand anything you're saying.

I just got my HTC Magic, so haven't had time to come across too may issues. I definitely think the phone needs to be able to run the apps from the SD card to be competitive with the iPhone's storage capabilities.

agreed, I think that's the next major hurdle, getting the phone set up so that it allows downloads/install/run of apps off the SD Card. I'm not sure what exactly is the issue, but no doubt it's a major one if it's taken this long to address.
One thing that would be great and along the same lines --- and I don't even know if this would work --- is if you could create a partition on the SD Card to basically make it function as extra RAM.

hmmm not going to even respond to that remark but the magic is trash. i don’t think alot of true hackers or android users will use the magic. As for the update and the storage card being used as the internal storage it’s already being use that way if you rooted your g1. alot of ppl from xda forums explain how it can be done so check them out. if you have a magic it doesn’t look good for you with no keyboard you may not see any rooting or JF "Jesus freak" for your only touch screen device. There’s a reason why all the best hackers have the g1 and won’t hand it up till another android with keyboard comes around.
