
Samsung, makers of the popular Hummingbird mobile processor, has announced Orion, a 1GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 chip which promises to deliver 5x the 3D graphics performance over previous offerings. *The chip will also allow for 1080p HD video encoding and decoding at 30fps, will have GPS embedded, and the capacity to drive 3 separate displays.
The chip will be selectively available towards the end of this year, with mass production starting in 2011. Continue reading below for the press release:
