The Galaxy S, one of Samsung’s most popular current devices and possible plot to take over the universe, is not without issues. You may have read before about the GPS bug that has been plaguing Galaxy S users (
as well as the fix for it), but now there seems to be another problem cropping up.
It seems that, if you have a file with 16 or more characters in the file extension (For example, file1.abcdefghijklmnop), the phone may crash, resulting in it becoming unable to connect back to Kies software. Example video of the issue below:

In an official (translated) statement from Samsung France, they say:
We discovered that in very limited circumstances does connect the Samsung S Galaxy to a PC via the utility Kies may cause an auto-reset of the product. This happens in cases where the product contains files whose extension includes more than 16 characters. Deleting these files remedy the problem.
