Same here! Although once I stop messing about with GPS to (try to) see where I am all the time the battery life might improve, hopefully.

I did the strangest thing yesterday and actually read the manual. It does confirm that updates are automatic.

RC 29 here, i wonder why we didn't get a "what's in this update" notice?
i have no idea what it's done, but i'll post if i see improvements =]

p.S:
i haven't tested battery power yet, but could an update really do that? >_<

ok... im back, so i was about to add some more wallpapers from my pictures collection when alas! the pc didn't automatically play my g1, so i went to settings and i find my "use as usb" function is gone! (oh no!) so i restarted the phone and it still wasn't there. so i plugged again to pc and there was a *usb* icon on notification bar, i brought it down and a window asked if i wanted to mount it to use w/ my pc. so i guess u no longer predetermine if you want to use as a portable hdd, u have to do it manually when you connect to a pc... lame sauce? boo.

Have been digging around trying to find information on the various updates out there and have yet to find a site that details what's in and most importantly what's not in each release. I have noticed that there seems to be different release branches in the US and UK with the US build numbers starting

kila-user 1.0 TC4-RC##

and the UK build numbers starting

kila-uk-user 1.0 TC5-RC#

If we could only find out what's in the various releases we would know if we need to apply pressure on t-mobile to put out the releases in a more timely manner.

Agreed,

There's been a well publicised security exploit revealed for the platform, i would like to think such updates would be made in a more timely manner.

Bug, software fixes, yeah i can wait for those no problem. But the more serious security related updates should be rolled out almost as soon as the exploit is made public - (hopefully before).
