Speaking at the GigaOm's Mobilize 09 conference just moments ago, Motorola CEO Dr. Sanjay K. Jha announced the company's first Android phone - Motorola Cliq.
Previously known as the
Motorola Sholes, the Cliq will also be the first Motorola handset to use MotoBlur, a custom Android UI from Motorola.
The Motorola Cliq will feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard similar to the
T-Mobile G1 , along with a 5 mega-pixel camera, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and HDSPA/Wi-Fi connectivity.
The MotoBlur UI will allow users to update and sync their "social status" across a number of social networking sites directly from a single app, along with contacts, messages, feeds, and photo syncing.
MotoBlur is “the first and only solution to sync contacts, posts, messages, photos and much more – from sources like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Gmail, work and personal e-mail, and LastFM – and automatically deliver it to the home screen.”
Motorola Cliq’s specs include:
- WCDMA 900/1700/2100, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps
- GSM 850/900/1800/1900
- 320 x 480 pixels touchscreen display
