My computer will not recognize my G1 with the new update and I have RC30 and I dont have the mass storage option in my SD memory. I also do not get a notification about mounting and I am the administrator. Help...

Hi Terri,

What OS are you running on your computer?
Are you just looking for access to your SD card from your computer or what exactly are you trying to do?

USB mass storage is handled differently with the RC30 update than it was with previous versions. With RC30 you won't automatically see the "enable USB for mass storage" in your SD card and phone storage settings beforehand. Instead, you will receive a notice in the notification bar after you plug in your USB cord to your PC.

Try unplugging your USB cord, reboot your phone, then plug in the USB cord again. You should receive a notice in the notification bar offering to mount the SD card. You need to activate mass storage AFTER it's plugged in by clicking on that notification.

Good luck!

Go to device manager, find the HTC device and go into properties, click on drivers tab and click update driver. Choose "No, not this time" and click next. Choose "Install from a list or specific location" uncheck "search removable media" click on "Include this location in the search: look for driver in: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\androidusb
