Hey guys
Currently my G1 is crashing at least 2 times a day as in it locks
up and the only way to get working again is to rip out the battery.
This is really inconvienant and i have passed my 14 days that
i had to return the phone to the Tmobile where I bought it.

Is there any way to get a fresh install of Android on it?

Thanks a million

some extra info, it locks up at any random moment so I cant
track the error down to any one app. even on the homescreen
it will freeze.

well why dont you just try to uninstall all apps and then restore the phone to factory settings/data.

Take it back to T-Mobile and ask them to fix it or replace it. Just because you can't return it doesn't mean it isn't under warranty.

This is how to Factory Reset your phone, the closest thing to a format. Other than just connecting ur G1 to pc and formatting the SD card through windows.

Here's how it works:

Power off the G1
Hold Home Key + End key for 20 seconds or until you see a "triangle with an exclamation point and a picture of the G1"
Open the QWERTY keyboard and hit Alt+W
Restored!

To do a soft reboot, simply hit the Home+Back buttons when you reach the "triangle with an exclamation point and a picture of the G1" screen
