16gig micro sdhc

I've read conflicting reports about the G1 being capable of handling a 16gig micro sdhc memory card and then again being limited to an 8gig micro sdhc. Can someone please clarify this? I wanna make sure it can take a 16gig before I go out and spend $100 on it! Thanks a lot!

I have only read that it will work properly (on forums and elsewhere). Where have you seen reports that it will not work?

i have the 16gb card from sandsk and it works fine. i was using it on my nokia n82 first. i posted it on my blog months before

Well, I've read it on various sites, also on reviews people are saying that it only supports 8gigs until a firmware update and there's a video of a google rep saying the same thing. But on the other hand, another rep was caught saying that they have been testing the g1 with 16gig sdhc and they were working fine. I just wanna know from a real life person if 16gigs work.

follow that link. that is the picture of a 16gb and it shows up on both the G1 and the Nokia N82 as 15GB. that i don't know why, but it does....

Cool, thanks yo! I think it displays 15gigs because of stuff that might of been saved on that card already. Anyways, that's awesome to know, I just wanna have a butt load of memory to play around with.

no if you look at the first post of www.cupofblog.com it is showing the NOKIA N82 as well with the card. the 15gb card for some reason registers as 15gb. just the way it is. i am using a sandsk card and i have had no problems what so ever...

Probably a combination of the whole 'GB == 1,000,000,000 bytes' discrepancy, and rounding the amount down to whole numbers.
