Personally i like the keys 1-9 in the 3x3 grid with a 0, # and the * key below it.
with all the menu function keys just below the screen.

any phone keyboard layout other than this style seems to have a fairly cumbersome interface.

touchscreens either have massive buttons that obscure screen content, or small onscreen buttons that are impossible without the stylus, which is pretty easy to lose.
the qwerty keyboard on a mobile device has small buttons which are normally hard to press.

I know its not as fancy or 'clean / sleek' as some more modern phones but i always liked the functionality.

The flip or slide style are kinda flimsy so I really prefer the old style better.

Whats everyone elses preference on this?

personally i'd like to see a phone in this style with powerful enough hardware to support android.
currently i have a nokia 5140, cause its from a rare series of phone thats built to take a few knocks [useful as i do scouts also], but i do miss the old green and red phone buttons.
