Hi

My name is Michaël, I'm from Belgium and I plan for the first time a trip "around the world" (more likely in Oceania; Australia, New Zealand, etc.).

As my mobile and my camera shows a certain age I'd like to choose a new Android Phone but my knowledges in smart-phone are limited.

I mostly want to use it for GPS (Wifi and offline preferably because 3G is too expensive), phone, web, emailing, Digital compass, visio or chat (virtual KB or physical it doesn't matter if the touch screen is good like an iPhone e.g.) and if the camera numeric is good enough it's significant

My budget could be around 600€ (but for that price I hope a good picture quality).

The iPhone 3GS could also be a solution but since I'm a average developer Android's platform is a better solution I think.

I would be very grateful if someone could advise me on actual devices (like Motorola Droid, Nexus One, HTC, etc.) but particularly about what's coming soon and available from Belgium this summer (for example) since my trip is planned for September.

Thanks a lot, any help or advices are very welcome !

Michaël

HI Michael,

As per me, u should go with HTC's products, it is having all the feature which u want like email, chat, wed and phone. And we are not having any problem, in accessing tht...

Hero is the BEST option.
HTC HERO is having some problem wit Bluetooth while pairing with some other devices(bcoz it is using Android 1.5 ) but rest all is fine with it.

G1 is not a gud option, many a time force Reset, and the device power cycles..

Thanks Nitinchadha

Wasn't there any HTC with NVidia Tegra processor announced in 2009 ?

In fact I really want to wait until summer to get the next "big thing" with a better Android 2.0 (or more) Built-in. But no announcement for the moment yet?

There is good chance to see something like the Nexus One in term of Android power but cheaper thanks to HTC (well that's what I hope).

I don't think the HTC Hero as a Digital Compass unfortunately.
