Yeh, I love my g1 and I'm not looking foward to getting anything else for a while. I had an iphone, which people consider the pinnacle of cellular technology and I ditched that for the g1. Please drop the subject of the g2, its bullshit until it comes out.

That would be really annoying. I like the attention I get for having the G1. But I heard that another google phone is being released in April and it's rumored to be the G2.

Go to this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android...phone_platform) and they have the official info on upcoming ANDROID phones. There is no G2, unfortunately , so I think you're right.

that doesnt necessarily mean anything. Wikipedia can be created by anyone, so the person who created that may not even have knowledge above anyone here. Also, it could just be that they want to keep it a secret or something. Although we dont know for sure, I wouldnt take that to be the official "No, the g2 is not coming out" line.

I started a new thread on this in the Hardware forum but thought it would be useful here too.
FYI,
A week or so ago I ruturned my G1 because I am waiting for the second generation of google phone.
Hoping they improve a couple things like, flash capability, a virtual keyboard, hopfully, adding multitouch, and improving the layout of the text/email view (which I find to be clunky and not easy to follow visually), and work out other small gliches in the os. Anyway when I called to ensure that my account was going to be credited for the return I asked the lady if and when the new G phone (presumably the G2) was going to be released and she told me April. I was surprised that she game me a definitive answer but she did. So while this may not be groundbreaking news it is at least confirmation from t mobile and not just a rumor. Hope this helps lay the rest of the rumors to rest.
Waiting...(for the G2)

Uh, this ain't proof. From being a customer with T-Mobile for 9 years now, and having worked in a customer service call center environment I can tell you that CS people are almost always out of the loop on new developments. They often don't find out till the day something happens. Additionally, there are two types of CS people:
1. Ones that have complete information they happily share with you.
2. Ones that will say anything to get off the phone with you.
50/50 chance you got #2, sorry, this doesn't confirm anything.

A little update,
I called T mobile today and asked the same question and got a different response.
She said that she hasn't heard anything regarding the G2 and that they usually don't hear anything until a month before a product is released. Sometimes a little sooner. As for the first call, i don't see how telling me the phone was coming out in April would behoove her at all, considering it would surely prompt further questions. So maybe you're experience has taught you to bs the customer to get your way but it doesn't negate what she told me in the first place. It is what it is.
BTW, I never said it was "proof." Just confirmation that "some" at T-mobile seem to think its coming in April for whatever reason.
Still Waiting...
