After Android 3.2 tablet pc Venus Pad Plus, another andvanced tablet pc T16, which ships with the latest android 3.1 operation system, comes out. Their performance are almost the same, though their os is different.
Design
T16 comes with a 10'' capacitive screen, beside the screen you can not find the Home key or the Back key, which is different from most common tablet pcs. The DC, earphone jack, SIM card, Standard USB port, Micro SD card slot and Mini USB port are on the right panel. There is a shell to cover SIM card, Standard USB port, Micro SD card slot so as to keep dirt from getting in the device. Other keys such as Power key and Volume key are on the top. On the bottom are 30pin USB, Rest, and Mic jack.
Firmware
T16's firmware is worth of the word Super. It ships with the latest android 3.1 operation system and Tegra2 T250 Dual Core CPU, whose main frequency is 1.0GHz. RAM is 512MB and ROM 4GB.
Display and sound
The screen itself has a 1280 x 800 resolution, which has become a standard for the course when it comes to Android tablets. But T16's display is really worth praising. It's easily one of the most crisp tablet panels so far, right up there with the IPS display on the iPad 2. Viewing angles are awesome, and motion scurries no ghosting. It's a beautiful display to consume content on, which is a real boon given that you are likely to consider one of these units if you're in the mood to consume a lot of content.
The two channel speakers here are worth praising. They are just loud adequate to output sound. Though, taking advantage of the 3.5mm earphone jack is recommended when you can, for the earphones, in most time, can bring you better sound quality.
The T16 holds two cameras. There's a 2MP one on the front, cut out for nothing more than casual video chatting, and a 5MP one on the rear. As with most other tablets that we've tested, neither camera is particularly noteworthy, but this 5MP camera is the best one so far. We've been trained to not expect too many amazing things from a camera embedded within a tablet pc, but now, we are amazed. The pictures it takes are really vivid and realistic.
WiFi: T16 performs well in downloading web pages through WiFi. Almost immediately entering google news page when you click the title. If the network is good, the speed may be much faster. Due to the sensitive capacitive screen, you can slide, zoom web pages easily. And the input is no problem and convenient for the large virtual keyboard. As for the download speed, I use it to download the test software Quadrant advance(more than 800kb), T16 finishes the downloading in one minutes, such speed is really nice.
Applications and games
The T16 pre-installs many useful applications such as Skype, email, Messaging, and the like. You can also download the android market to download more application such as facebook, twitter, YouTube and other hot applications. In the T16, such applications run almost without any problem, quite smoothly. The powerful browser can save you much trouble when post things on the internet.
The games also run smoothly.
What I said above is just half the story, the
test result (shown in the pictures)will speak more than I can.
Battery life: the battery gets a good performance, working time about 8 hours and standby time is as long as 4 days.
Conclusion: As the latest android tablet pc, T16 is really leading the whole market. Its configration, its performance both set a good example for the latter ones.
What is Good: Dual core CPU, android 3.1 os, dual camera, swift response.
What is bad: the price ($379)may be a little high for some users to afford.
