When setting up an email account xxxxxxx@yahoo.com is recognized easily and automatically set up on the G1. This is great as I have a couple yahoo accounts.

However... I also have a @rocketmail.com account (rocketmail is a domain Yahoo! created that they added to their list when you sign up). It is essentially... no wait, IT IS Yahoo! Mail, but with a different domain. That is the only difference.

However the G1 does not recognize this as a yahoo mail system (the same goes for @ymail.com) and automatically goes to the POP / IMAP settings. Which you cannot obtain witthout signing up for Yahoo! Mail Plus which is $20 / year. I found a site that actually had the POP settings but they did not work. Im no email server expert but there must be a flag that they trow onto an account to let them now if it's accessable through POP.

Anybody know if rocketmail is coming in an update? Thanks.

I have a @ymail.com and I don't get through the set up either. Some people say that it goes through but I haven't had any success with that or my @live.com account

Regarding the Microsoft Live mail (aka hotmail.com or any other purchased officelive domain), just choose the manual setup. The following account settings work in the US:

Username: myemail@mydomain.com (e.g. samsmith@hotmail.com)
Password: [whatever your Hotmail/Live password is]

POP3: pop3.live.com
Port: 995
Security: SSL (if available)

SMTP: smtp.live.com
Port: 25
Security: TLS (if available)
Require Signin: true
(same user/password as inbound)
