Removing Applications

Hello, maybe this has been addressed, but I have downloaded some apps that I no longer want. How do I delete them? It doesn't seem intuitive.
Please help.

It's a bit more involved than removing shortcut icons, here's what you need to do:

Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Select the application you want to uninstall, then click the uninstall button
