It sounds like your friend is using gMote to remote control. Easy solution (from the gMote website at
http://www.gmote.org/faq)
Gmote is self contained and doesn't write any settings to the registry. Therefore, to remove the app, all you have to do is:
1. Delete the installation directory (c:\program files\gmoteserver)
2. Click start, programs, startup, right click on "Gmote Server" and hit delete.
3. Click on start, programs, right click on "Gmote Server" and hit delete.

Oops, you probably wont be able to delete it while it is running. You can either hit ctrl-alt-del to bring up the task manager and then end task on gMote before you try, or if you dont feel comfortable doing that do steps 2 and 3 first...then reboot and you should be able to nuke the installation directory in step 1.
