Calendar App not notifying? - UK

I set an event in my calendar on my phone to notify me of a social event this evening three hours in advance.

The phone did not alert me 3 hours prior to the event as I had set.

My Gmail account did get sync'd when I set this notification (on the G1) to provide a popup of the event

My phone settings are to provide a status bar notification with default tone.

Anyone else had the Calendar fail to notify them?

UPDATE: I've tested this with new test events, set both on the G1 and via Gmail and it has alerted me every time. I can only assume that I did something wrong the first time or it is an intermittent bug.

Funny...this is exactly what I logged in to check out. I had a calendar event to pay my mortgage on our way in to work this morning. I have the default reminder set to 5 minutes before both by status bar and tone, but it never went off.

any resolution for this?

Mine has done this to me again! Set a new event on the G1, added a 10 min notification. Saved.

No alert came.

Re-checked the event afterwards and the notification was still there (as in still set against the event).

Starting to lose faith/trust in the google calendar on this device!
