Carrier: T-Mobile
Phone: Nexus One

I am a former Blackberry user... the one thing I loved about my BB was the ability to seamlessly sync it with Outlook. I was told ANY android phone could sync with Outlook... how upset was I when I found out, it's not that simple.

I need to be able to sync my phone with my Outlook calendar, contacts and TASKS... and have alarms go off for my calendar and tasks, just like they did with my BB.
I tried CompanionLink... customer service tried helping me, no such luck... but it was messing up my reoccurring appointments big time (I have a lot of them... some which span several days... and I have to have them on my calendar). Tasks with alarms are a must also...

Is there any other options out there for me??

Please help!

P.S. I LOVE with my N1 though! Incredibly fast... and no locking up and freezing on me like my BB!

unfortunately there is no native TASKS app on android.
you will have to find a 3rd party app that comes with the PC program.

i know several but most of them don't work that well and still you have to pay to buy.
1. companion link
2. the missing sync
they are both pc programs

if only the calendar sync capability is ok, you can download "google calendar sync".
it syncs your outlook calendar with google calendar and then if you've set it right on your phone, google calendar will sync automatically to your phone.

Thanks! Tried Companion Link... seriously screwed up my reoccurring appoints and reminders never went off for tasks :-(
I'll check out Missing Sync.

Right now I am syncing my calendar through google, which seems to be working out pretty good. An app that puts everything together (and works correctly!) would be great, but if I need to use something else to sync my tasks, I will.

Thanks!

Wish Android would get on the ball with this Outlook thing... I know I'm not the only one!

I have asked around so many times unsuccessfully if Droid 2.2 will continue pursuing trying to erode Microsoft's market by enhancing incompatibility with Outlook calendar. I returned 2 Droids before due to lack of cooperation from Google, Verizon and Motorola in solving this issue. I am not a Microsoft groupie, my company uses Microsoft Outlook and it does a very good job for me. I need a new telephone that syncs with Outlook Calendar and I would like to try Droid. Does Google actually think that by creating this much difficulty to work with Microsoft Outlook they will convert people? I really do not want to wait until Windows 7 but at the rate I am going is looking more and more like a possibility. Anyone from Droid can tell whether the Droid X will sync with Microsoft Outlook (Exchange servers) without having to push it through gmail?
