Need to back up contacts...

Hey guys, just a quick overview of what I want to do.

I want to backup my contacts to any program on my pc (possibly outlook) so that I can get new software on my htc magic (sense ui) and at the same time change my gmail account since i don't use that one in particular.

If there is a way to sync all contacts to my gmail account (old) to my new gmail account, that would actually work, now that I think about it. The only thing is that Im not sure if theres a way to do it that way.

All help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If there are other ways to back up my contacts to my pc which would allow me to transfer them back to my phone, i would really appreciate it!

Use Gmail's contact export to save to your hardrive and import it back with your other Gmail account

Thanks for the reply, but can you just clarify it a little bit.

I will export my contacts from my phone that have been saved on my phone to my old gmail account? How is this done, I can't seem to bring them over.

Also, once they've been sync'd to my old gmail account, how do I bring them over to my new gmail account?

if you have your contacts already on your gmail, select all the contacts you want to export and hit the button "export" on the top right of the contacts dialog box. after exporting, import it in your new gmail account

if you have all your contacts on outlook, use the export to file, comma separated by values and it will save as a .cvs file. use gmail contacts import and select the .cvs file you just created.
