Media Player?

I believe the phone will come equipped with a music player, but no movie playing functionality? I'm less interested in movie recording, but would love to be able to download tv shows and movies to watch on the G1. Any news of apps providing for this?

It won't be able to record video out of the box, but perhaps like the sidekick LX, it will receive the ability to in a later update.

I would assume watching movies and TV shows is easily done though.

Would be nice if, once video capability is "standard" if Amazon's online store took a note from iTunes and also sold movies/episodes.

there is no media player that equipped inside the G1... but from the grape-vein its told that, they are banking on developers to do the dirty work.

At least there's a youtube, but I've heard people talking about porting mplayer to the android device.
