Ahoy there, my searches on Google have turned up nothing in regards to this:
My G1 has suddenly decided to stop receiving my email. It seems to have happened since I turned auto-synching off for the first time a few days ago (to preserve battery life) and since I've turned it back on Gmail won't retrieve any email either via auto-sync or manually refreshing.

My mail still works on all my computers, and in both the standard browser and Opera Mini on the android.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem, and how did you fix it?
Many apologies if this is:

a) in the wrong forum
b) a stupid question
c) a case of uninstall & reinstall the application (which I don't actually know how to do)

I actually just fixed the same problem, what you need to do is go into your settings>Data Synchronization>Data Synchronization> make sure background data is on, leave auto sync off and tap the Gmail button, it should force sync your mail. You can now turn auto sync back on and it should work. This worked for me, let me know if it works for you, i hope it does.

Hmm, no luck for me unfortunately - it claims it synched, but nothing new has appeared. It hasn't received any mail for 6 days now, but it always has a (3) next to the Inbox, despite there being no unread mail that it has found.
