definition of the word
update (via various sources copy/paste):
1.
the release of a version of the Licensed Software containing improvements and adjustments to the Licensed Software
2.
to bring (a book, figures, or the like) up to date, as by adding new information or making corrections
3.
bring to the latest state of technology
Bringing mention of a
ROM update (as you did do) insinuates that there is a previous version that was recently made up to date with newer, better information.
You link to a thread on the XDA forums in reference to
Android SDK 1.0. udK nor anyone else in that thread mention 1.1 or anything newer/more-recent THAN 1.0 (which we all know if the latest version of Android that our phones will ship with).
Furthermore, no where on pages one through three of that particular thread, on the XDA forums does the word
update appear.

I am pretty certain that no one here mistook your post as a suggestion.
But I personally took it as a misleading cross reference to something that does not exist.

around the corner for whom exactly?
If someone should install Android successfully on their HTC device NOT the HTC/T-Mobile G1, that thread applies to them.
However, everyone here (99.9% of registered members) is getting the G1 with an unhacked version of the Android operating system version ONE!
If
udK or someone else should code an onscreen keyboard for our new G1 one phone, that would be mega-orgasmic-fantastic!
Really it would benji.
But until that happens, you still pointed to a site and thread totally not related to the originating topic of this discussion.

And to answer the originating topic of this discussion posted by jmejiaa;
@jmejiaa
Yes, it seems possible.
