Hey folks,

While playing with the emulator, I noticed that system.img and userdata.img are distinct files. The question is:

Is it possible to upgrade the Android kernel while retaining the user data? Maybe by backing up the old kernel, extracting the userdata file, packing it into the new kernel and then flashing this?

It would be the awesomest thing!

(I have to admit, I don't even have my phone yet. )
