R08 SDK is insisting I don't have the JDK installed and exits. I DO have the latest JDK installed, even installed NetBeans (*shudder*) to test and it cheerfully installed and runs fat and happy. Am running Vista 64, have tried the 32bit versions to see if that will work around but no love. Am using the installer, but am expecting the same results if I try the .zip.
Will be developing on Eclipse. But obviously if I don't get the SDK in, I'm not getting any farther. Thanks!!

Try using MotoDev - It's eclipse with everything android pre-packaged. It comes from Motorola and was a breeze to install. You can then select what SDKs it will automatically install for you.

Hey Joe did you get this issue resolved? I also have NetBeans and every time I download the Eclipse for Java environment it says I don't have Java installed. If you got yours working can you let me know how? Thank you sir

Thanks for this, it was really helpful to me after I got into feng shui mode and decided to include my laptop in the process, deleted a bunch of stuff which resulted in corrupting SDK; this awesome guide helped me figure out how to uninstall the leftovers and reinstall it. Thanks folks!
