so what is the cupcake...am i suppose to download it and install myself or do i wait for it over the air?

Cupcake is the codename for the RC31 OTA (Over-The-Air) update that was supposed to be due by the end of January. The update is just a series of codes that enable the phone to have features which are disabled from the phone such as a virtual on-screen keyboard, video recording and playback and stereo bluetooth.

how do i get it...there appears to be a download for it that u would have to do with your pc...not sure i can do that...it looks complicated...will this be delivered automatically whe ready via over the air?

The way to get it is (1) to wait until Tmobile launches is as an OTA, or (2) do it yourself by gaining root acess to your phone and having the SDK (Software Development Kit). Id say just wait patiently like we all are because option 2 is very hard to do if you don't know what your doing, you can brick your phone. And as for your last question, yes, the update will be delivered as an Over The Air update. You'll know you have it when a screen pops up in your phone that says something like "an important update is available for your phone".

thanks for your response...will i still get the updates even if i use the pphone without t-mobile...i bought it to use as means to surf via wifi...so i have no phone provider

Seriously guys...

I'm not trying to thread-jack or be a straight up @ss, but why does everybody create a new thread everytime they have a question about "cupcake"?

I'm just tired of looking through the forums and every other thread being titled something with cupcake in it.

You do know that there is a way to search the forums to find a thread more appropriate for your questions don't you?

Ok, while we are on the subject of cupcake... I am looking for a few things which include, but are not limited to: video capture/playback, OS KB, stereo bt.
