Cupcake yet?

Why?
I like my phone. It's great. Way better than my last phone. I read a lot about my phone before I purchased it, and while it was waiting for it to ship. It's not perfect, no phone is, not even the holy iPhone, but it does what I want, and that's enough. If you don't feel like I do -- if you're waiting for some magic update to make it all better -- for one reason or another, it's probably not going to be the magic fix you're seeking. Few things in life are.

If you're honest with yourself, you probably want a different phone. So go get it, and be happy! It's your choice, sit around complaining about feature x, y, z, or riding off into the sunset with the phone that does what you want. Life is far too short to spend it on message boards unhappy.

first of all, yes, cupcake is a developmental branch but its also the name of the update! Please stop emphiisizing what everybody has known for the past 2 months, if people wanna call the update "cupcake", let them! Second of all, we all aren't part of this forum because we don't like our phones, the g1 is a great phone, but you have to understand that I personally paid $400 and I am dissapointed that the phone is missing all these features, and guess what, I have all the right in the world to bitch and complain about it! Also, "Life is too short to spend it on message boards unhappy"? Who said we're unhappy? We're all very satisfied with the g1, and if we weren't, we wouldn't be here! I like my phone...A LOT! I just want my update that'll put the phone up to par with other devices, that's all!

I don't know of anyone having the cupcake update yet, that update was supposed to be offered on the 11th of January. Don't bother calling T-mobile about it because they have no knowledge of it what-so-ever. Every G1 owner is waiting for this and I hope it comes soon. What I did find out was that if it does go out, you have to power off your G1 and then power it on to receive the update.

I paid just as much as you did, so what?

You certainly have the right to bitch, but how long do you expect anyone else to care about it? Eventually bitching should either end or lead to action, otherwise it's pointless, annoying, and counterproductive. And happy? How can anyone claim to be happy if they spend a good deal of their time on a message boards complaining about, of all things, their phone? Seriously, I wish I had that person's life, where the biggest problem they face is a lackluster phone.
I'm not saying that's you, but if I found myself endlessly complaining about my phone on message boards for weeks at a time, I'd want someone to smack my whiney ass good and hard and tell me to get a damn life.

My point is that if someone is so unsatisfied, so completely unhappy about their phone that they must complain 24/7, they must go on and on and on about it, that they must post angry messages, and hyperbole -- dude, they are NOT satisfied and need to get whatever it is that WILL satisfy them, or they need some serious meds.
