Bit of a problem...

Okay - i've become locked out of my phone...

Whilst cleaning the screen using my shirt it registered multiple wrong patterns and then got the "forgot pattern" button.

So now it's asking me for my Googlemail username and password

I can remember my password but the problem is that I can't remember my username...

Is there any way to get back to the pattern input screen as I know my pattern...

Oh and using the google "forgot my username" procedure I'm discovering a lot of unused usernames and a couple of used ones but none mine

There are 2 options available to you:

1. This requires that you registered an alternate email address when you setup your GoogleMail account
i) Goto www.gmail.com
ii) Click on the 'I cannot access my account link)
iii) Select forgotten username and follow the instructions

2. This will wipe all data from the G1 and return it to the factory setup (use with caution)
i) Turn off phone
ii) Turn on phone whilst holding down the "menu" + "home" keys, keep them pressed until the triangle logo appears on the screen
iii) Press "Alt" + "W"
iV) Phone will reset its software to "out of the box" settings and reboot

EDIT: Someone upstairs has been playing a giant prank on me - I just went to the google username recovery page to pick something memorable and simple to use and guess what? It gave me my secret question - and then I answered that correctly it asked me for my new password and reset it.... After all this time and it turns out the reason why it hadn't accepted it on the phone was because I hadn't included the @googlemail.com bit

How do I retrieve all my contact data before reseting the phone. Are any backdoor options tried everything need help. I cannot risk loosing contact info.
