Hi im new to androids and not particularly great with computers. Im finding that my battery life is almost non existent on my Android. I have read alot in the forums so far about how to improve it, and i know part of it is poor signal issues.

However most of the advice given doesnt work/not possible on my phone. I live in Japan where we have SHARP ISO3 as far as i can tell this model is exclusive to Japan and has some differences. For instance here there is virtually no sms/texts on any phone (only email) so there is no option to turn of 3G on the android (as far as i can tell). Since my ability to read technical japanese is pretty non-existent i cant get any help with it. I was wondering if there was anyone out there with the same phone who could help me. For instance to "root" my phone etc. Cheers.

p.s. pretty new to all this computer stuff so apologies if slow on the uptake.
