Is there a way of turning it off? The camer would be so much faster without it!

But if you turned it off, the camera wouls never acheive focus and all your shots would be blurry


To speed up picture taking (slightly), half press the shutter button and when the camera is focused it will beep and a green dot will appear in the top right corner of the screen
Then fully depress the shutter button to take the shot, still has terrible shutter lag though

Thank you for this tip on the "Half press". I now have an approximate idea of when the shutter is going off. Too bad my subjects don't, haha. However I didn't get the blinking green light. Fortunately I have never really used my camera phone much in the past. So I am not devastated, but this G1 camera majorly SUCKS! My old pathetic Samsumg flip phone had a better camera than the G1. Thanks again, and Happy Holidays.
