My own experience points out that HTC Desire. I have a G1 and a moment ... a job, one for personal use. I also had, and returned to Samsung S Watch Intrepid II. I am not impressed with the Samsung S at all. It is a moment, and there are constantly struggling oddities (some large and small) and the battery with the unit of Samsung. I also had other Android Samsung S Intrepid, and that was all sorts of problems too .... I went back to that as well. G1 On the other hand, did everything I asked and no hardware problems. It is time, I had to get rid of the flash 2.1, many problems, but I am still getting random reboots, etc. ... Samsung S models are visually beautiful, but no thanks .... I gave a very fair shake, but I like the phones work. Save yourself a headache and you want .... even if it is supposed to be a bit lower. If I could change my current hero, I would do today.

Good luck!

I purchased both the Galaxy S and HTC HD Desire, because after having had the Galaxy S for a short period of time I wasn't entirely happy.
In my view firstly as a basic comparison, if you want front facing camera the HTC doesn't have one, also the Galaxy has more internal memory.
The screen on the Galaxy S is very good, very crisp and alive, although for me even at the lowest brightness settings it always seemed to bright and my eyes would hurt on reading or playing chess for example. The HTC screen is more "dimmed" and has less vibrant colours to me easire on the eye.
The HTC feels generally a little quicker and more responsive albeit not by much, most people wouldn't tell the difference, to me very noticeable. The HTC has a solid build, although heavier than the Galaxy S (I prefer a slightly heavier phone) and has a more quality feel to the build. the HTC has dual flash which is quite good to say it is on a phone. The quality of filming and or taking pictures is better on the HTC but not by much considering it has more Megapixels on the camera. All in all these phones are neck a neck on most features.
For me I kept the HTC because the screen is not too bright, it is heavier therefore easier to locate in your clothes, seems more responsive, HTC software works out of the box, and battery time seems slightly longer.
