G1 Battery is a Joke Surely. Please help!

I have got a new G1 and i was laughing at how quickly the battery goes dead. But its not funny any more. I got this phone last Sunday - 5 days ago. It has been charged 9 times from empty to full. When i got it i downloaded the toggle thing and turned off the wifi and gps and turned the screen brightness down to 8%. I use the phone for at least 3 short phonecalls a day and possibly 10 texts. Check emails 5 times or so.

Yeah, the battery life of the G1 has raised some concerns, have a read through this thread here:

It contains some tips on extending the battery life, and might help you to figure out if the battery you have is defective etc.

By the way, they did send me another batttery for the phone, but it was another 1150mAh battery so it wouldn't have helped the problem I was having anyways. I hope that this helps everyone with their battery problem, at least until they can come up with a viable fix. I can say that although my phone is chunkier, I no longer have a dead battery by 11 am after what I consider minimal usage. Good Luck!!

Am kinda confused, I have used my G1 phone for hours and hours and I think the battery is great lol I don't even disable anything, maybe its just me that feels that this is a good battery compared to my last phone N95

I am honestly satisfied with the outcome of rooting my G1. I have on average had to charge my phone only twice a day..

One at mid-day after toggling the gps or wifi on for a few minutes(partial charge) and one at night when I go to bed(full charge).

I am very suprised at how fast the G1 can charge as well...

I only charge my phone once a day, unless I'm starting at 4:45am and ending at midnight, then I take a charger with me, by about 7 it needs to be charged to make it to my commute home.
