Anyone know how to get Google Search button or widgit to default to Opera Mini instead of first opening the default browser then opening Opera?

if you open opera mini, select the settings icon (the spanner at the bottom of the screen). click on 'settings' in the display window that pops up. then switch default browser to 'on'

Hi that was my first thought, that does not seem to fix the problem, it is still there.

It is the default browser for everything but google search button and widget.

this works okay for me, the only thing I can think of is to uninstall the google search widget then go to the android market place and download it again, see if that works
regards
john

just another thought,-are you using the google search widget, or the google search by voice widget? I use the google search by voice widget (which can still be used like the other search widget as well as voice) and opera mini is the default browser whenever I use it. If you're not already using it, try installing the google search by voice widget instead (it's still a free download from android market place)

If I uninstall it will it remove the drop down google search you get when you press the actual search button?

I don't see why it should, the drop down google search is the way the app actually works. I have the google search by voice widget which works exactly the same way.
