Hi! I wonder if anyone knows much about the details of how the G1 handles ringtones...
I am able to load up .wav files onto the sd card and set them as a ringtone, but I'm not happy with the way they play. What I mean is this...
I will get a phone call and the .wav file will play, wait ~10 seconds, play again, etc. until I answer it or voicemail picks up. What I would like to do is set it so that the file loop continuously, with no silence between repeating itself.
Several of the factory ringtones do not have this problem. For example, the "Twirl Away" ringtone is a few seconds long and loops seamlessly. I've tried setting loop points in .wav files before uploading them (such as a traditional musical sampler would read and use to loop) but this has made no difference. I've also tried loading the ringtones as .ogg files (without loop points), but this has been unsuccessful as well. Would it help to set loop points in an .ogg file? Does anyone know how to do that? Is there any other way to have the sound loop seamlessly?
