Is there a folder you can put Wallpapers in directly so you don't have to crop them every time you want to switch? Right now I am just going to my picture list and selecting photos but even if they are 640x480 it insists that I crop them...

Is there some way I can look at the old wallpapers I used if I change?

TIA!

Right, but if a wallpaper is already 640x480 I don't want to go through the clumsy step of resizing the box at all. I just want it to use the whole image. So how can I skip the cropping step altogether?

But if I DO take the time and effort to crop it, I would like to be able to use that image again later if I switch to another wallpaper... so where are your wallpapers stored and how do you retrieve them again?

I wouldn't have asked if it wasn't an issue for me. I would appreciate a helpful answer instead of someone questioning the validity of the questions. Sorry for wasting your time. Hopefully someone else will be more gracious with theirs.

It IS a big issue for me too. It's not the time that it takes, it's the quality at which Android resaves the image after crop, it's very poor, no where near the quality as the wallpapers in the gallery.

I did some research yesterday on this and came up with a twist to the original questions: how can I add wallpapers to the "Wallpaper gallery" on the phone? I couldn't find the folder where those are stored... anyone know?

I dont think it's possible at the moment, it seems the wallpapers are stored in some 'off limits' folder on the handset somewhere.

It is a little annoying as it would be better to keep them all in one place. But atleast adding them from the SD card is pretty hassle free.
