I fixed it! Reset my router to (a) NOT ue N-signal and (b) changed channel to 6. Then still nothing worked but after I rebooted the phone I had full WiFi signal (never before) and internet connectivity. YES!!!

I have a similar problem. Internet browser doesn't work. I also used the mini opera too but the same behaviour. Strage is that google maps works fine. Fast and reliable.

WiFi and 3G settings are checked several times and they are ok. I checked browsers settings too and they seems also ok.

Any ideas?

I also have a similar problem. I'm using a Motorola SBG900 modem/router. I've experienced severe modem disruptions when my very new HTC Desire connects to the WiFi network. The phone connects easily to the network but causes the modem to reset/reboot every time. This means a constant network connection is not possible. I've tried all wireless channels with no luck. There is no other interference in the area (I've checked with WiFI Analyzer).

It's tainting my Desire experience (which is otherwise a very positive one).

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone,
I seem to be having the same problem as many of you. I have a Motorola SBG900 modem/router and whenever the HTC Desire attempts to utilize the Wi Fi it reboots the SBG900.

Every work around fails. If I leave the Wi Fi off on my Desire - all works perfectly on my home network but the second i introduce the Desire it reboots the entire thing every time it hook up.

I'll try calling Telstra today as both the Desire and internet modem service is provided by them and see if they have sussed it yet......

Hi Again,
After a week of trying every possible variation and having NO problems using the DESIRE Wi-Fi functionality in hot spots or on friends networks *except* those that have Tesltra cable and a Motorola SBG900 (same problem of reset) - I've given up on the merry go circle of phone support from Tesltra who simply don't know an answer. I'm guessing there isn't one but would love to be corrected. If anyone can tell me that they are successfully using a different mobile/router with Telstra cable and their Desire i'd be thankful as it seems likely a new modem/router is required.
