I sometimes notice that some of my programs just run on their own. I have the TasKiller and Task Manager apps and I'll notice that my % is higher than it should be on my Task Manager then I'll go to my TasKiller and there will be multiple programs running (w/out me even starting them up). For example, yesterday I didnt use my phone for awhile during the middle of the day, I went on the TasKiller and there were about 4-5 programs running...settings, AK notepad, one of those "com.google" things, calendar and something else. I dont understand why this happens and I thought thats what the TasKiller was for (to close programs that are not in use??) I wasnt doing anything that would have caused my phone to by syncing or anything...

Also, should I be force closing those "com.google." applications?

I'd appreciate if someone has an answer also! I use TasKiller to kill things like MyFaves, etc but even after killing them they appear to restart.....wtf?

Is there an app that will allow one to control apps that continually run such as MyFaves, etc?

Thanks!!

hey its very simple most of those apps need to sync especially if there google apps. the best app to use and solve all your problems and keeps your android running smooth is automatic task killer you can download it from the market. you choose which apps you want running and which ones you dont while your phone is in sleep mode.

Hi

Not sure if it's a standard widget or an HTC one, but if you add the power widget you can selectively turn off several functions, including auto-sync. If apps aren't going to be able to sync, they usually don't automatically restart.
