Do you have the need to lock your cell phone from prying eyes? Do you have sensitive photos you have taken with your cell phone and do not wish others to accidentally open them to view them? You can now download an Android phone application called Image Lock. A description of the application is as follows:
Image Lock allows a person with a Google Android based cell phone to
protect their pictures and images. Images can be "locked" with a PIN
number, unlocked with the same PIN, or viewed. If the image is viewed
without the proper PIN, it simply displays an image of a padlock with
the message "Image Is Locked".
Any Locked image can be emailed or copied to a PC, and is still not
visible without the proper PIN. With one button, every picture on a cell
phone can be locked, or unlocked for convenience. Individual pictures
can be assigned a unique PIN number.
Whether privacy, safety or other concerns exist, image lock can help
protect your family if your cell phone is lost due to exploitation such
as identity theft or personal safety. Privacy for pictures of a personal
nature can be a piece of mind as well.
Image Lock is currently available for Google Android based cell phones.
PC version and other Cell Phone systems are under development. Video
locking is slated to be added by March 1, 2010.
There is also a demo version available for free. The demo allows you to see how the app works, however, it assigns the pin, 1234 to your pics and this is shown right on the screen as you try to access the photos. The full application does not work in this manner. In the full version, you will not see the pin you assigned to the pic.
