From now until the New Year all the apps from Android Market are being distributed free of charge. Because of this, many of the applications we've been following through the developer challenge are being held back until they can charge a fee for their downloads.
So if you've been tracking some applications over the last few months and wonder when they'll be released, it'll more than likely be in the new year.
As of monday developers will be allowed to upload apps to the market, so if someone's developed an irc application for free distribution you'll probably see one sometime next week.
