I'm eagerly awaiting Oct. 22. In the meantime, I am wondering if the G1 will be able to write/edit using Google Docs? My current phone (T-Mobile Wing) can read and download from Google Docs but cannot write with it as the web application it is designed to be. Can the G1?

What other word processing capabilities/software will the G1 ship with? I've read that there is no MS Word doc compatible application (like DocsToGo) shipping with the G1. Will one be offered on Android Market?

Thanks.

I opened the Google Docs homepage with the Android emulator, and got a message stating that the browser is not supported. I would take this to mean "no", unless either the site or Androids browser are updated in the near future.

That's disappointing. I was hoping to use Google Docs with my phone.
So, does anyone know if there is a word processor shipping with the G1 or immediately available on Android Market?

I'm crossing my fingers that there is. A simple plain text application would do in a pinch but for the price and the promise I was hoping for mobile word processing. I get that at least from my current HTC T-Mobile Wing phone.

I've read that the shipping version of the G1 will be able to view, but not edit, Word docs... Can't recall where I read this though, could be wrong...

Jerry, What is the Yahoo notebook? I would like to type documents with the G1 (which I just ordered). It may be nice, as well, to open and edit Word docs at some point but that need not be the same application.

I like the "Grace to you" part as well!
