AJ, I could setup a test exchange account for you to test with. Shoot me an email if you want to try it, maybe we could even make a review out of it.
Let's go ahead and do it so we can help those needing to find answers. I'll send you and email to set it up.

Hi guys, I thought froyo 2.2 should work with exchange straight away.

First, I had self generated private SSL installed on my exchange server, and I blamed it for the problem, but now I bought SSL for exchange from godaddy, and still has the problem. I'm on froryo 2.2 and it gives the this problem:
Setup could not finish. Cannot Connect to server.

If you have any suggestions, or howtos, Please let me know I have been waiting for exchange sync to work since 1.5

Thanks

Can you list what settings you are using. Also make sure you check "trust all certificates".

Microsoft Exchange Active Sync

Domain\Username -> myexchange\myusername

Server -> mail.mycompany.co.uk

Use Secure Connection (SSL) --> Selected (Ticked)
Accept all SSL Certificates --> Selected (Ticked)

and then when I click on next, I get this message:

Setup could not finish
Cannot connect to server.

P.S: I manage my own Exchange Server and recently installed Godaddy Certificate.

Any settings to change/confirm on server side?

ActiveSync has to be enabled on the server.

Does OWA work fine through a browser?

EDIT: Also try it without the myexchange\ in front of your username.

After he said try it, it immediately worked, syncing emails, Corporate Calendar and Contacts, wirelessly. I don't see an option for syncing the Outlook Tasks or Notes, however there are many free applications out there that might work for that.

Finally, one free trial application is called Touchdown and it does basically the same thing (syncing with Exchange), but it gave us a better error (Active Sync not enabled) notification for troubleshooting. Check it out. Once I was up syncing with Exchange, I deleted it.

Good luck!
The inability to sync Outlook tasks and notes is a real deal breaker. I wonder why all these 3rd party apps leave that out of the sync? It would seem that it would be easy to include since the app is already syncing the cal, contacts, and email.

Cannot connect to server.
I previously had Windows Mobile 6.1 sync'ing with exchange, and I got a new droid 2 yesterday.

I followed the corporate sync setup, and it failed to login. After researching, I found that entering my username as myusername@mydomain.com (not mydomain\myusername) fixed the problem.
