Android software in comparison with iPhone OS & WM 6.5

Hi all.

Currently not a Android user. Have been with WM for some time after having the HTC M500, M600, M700 as well as now owning the Touch HD running WM 6.5. Prior to having the HD I have had the iPhone(Original 1.0.1 FW) had it since launch for around 1 year or more.

Im now quite bored of the HD, not so much the phone its self as its a very good phone but the software and just how unstable WM actually is still. Ive had a look at the G1 someone here at work has and seems quite like the iPhone OS.

Im looking at possibly buying a HTC Magic, and running it on Orange as im not really wanting to move networks to Vodaphone as ive been with Orange for 7 years and happy with there service.

So whats the Android OS like, comparing to WM aswell as iPhone os.

Howdy, im new to android also, only had the phone for two days. Comming from both Symbian and WM i am impressed. The phone is fast and very configuable and the apps store is great although it looks shocking !! Only thing missing with the android atm is support for office apps. The phone sync's with outlook contacts and appointments but not mails. There is a MS office reader program but no mobile office (yet). The bluethooth is half built it connects to headsets and my car ok but you cant transfer files or recieve them (again yet)
I bought the phone for the open source nature of it but as its all new not all apps have been written yet but im sure they will come with time/

But am very interested in the Htc Hero
the interface is awsome
