This was my main irritation with the G1. I missed a lot of calls, even with the volume all the way up.
However - I discovered that if I use Ringdroid to create a ring tone from an mp3 music file then the created ring tone is much louder (when music player volume is set high).

I have had my droid for one week. When I first got it, the ring volume was very loud. Now, I can hardly hear it and am missing calls. I am going to bring it in to Verizon and, if they can't offer a solution, I will try michlt215's suggestion.

Davida usa ~ I am having the same issue. The first day, my ring volume was really loud, now even with the volume setting maxed out, I can barely hear my phone ringing. Did you get your problem resolved?

Hi, Lucy.

Yes, I got the problem fixed, but I'm not sure if I did the right thing or if I was just lucky.

What I did is bring the Droid into the Verizon store and tell them the problem. They sprayed a cleaner made for electronic devices into the copper colored grill in the lower back of the device. This immediately fixed the problem. I made sure they put a note in my file in case the problem recurred.

Hope this helps!
