How can I access an email group when sending from my G1? When I start typing the name of a group it only shows me individual contacts that start with the same letters. Help!

I don't think this is possible with the mobile app or the mobile web browser version. Unless 1.5 changes this, groups aren't possible.

I did just discover a workaround, however.

Go to your PC. Compose a new message, but don't write anything, just select your email group as the recipient (this will work on your computer). Now, click the "save now" button. Voila, you have now saved a "draft" that's addressed to your email group.

Now, give it 30 seconds to a minute and open up your gmail app on your phone. Press Menu Button and then select "view labels". You should see a new draft in your "drafts" label. You should be able to edit and send this and still keep the draft, thus you can always create a new email and send it to your email group.

Try this
Create a new contact and add all the group emails, put each email address between brackets. e.g. <email@google.com> separate with a semi colon ;

I did this on gmail on my pc and it worked. Tried it on my G1, it didn't. BUT, check the email addresses and you will probably find the < > are not there. Add them in, except the very first and very last (the phone will add these). Works a treat now.
I'm going to do all my groups now.
Might be easier to put the email addresses into a document and then paste them into your contacts.
A bit labourious, but you only need top do it once and if you regularly email groups from your phone, it is time well spent.
Hope it works for you.
