Settle or not, what can one do? Yell at the carrier? I'm pissed about it just like everybody else.

I have found that ice cream sandwich will allow you to do ANYTHING you want. Including cooking thanksgiving turkeys, changing the oil in your car and tilling the garden.

But until you get it.... if ever then you can do what i do. I use the third iteration of the get-dog,today program. I pre-root and then run the pipe after which i restore then re-add the information i want to sync. Root again and then hand enter all the contact info. This should allow you to have EVERYTHING you ever wanted at your fingertips. Actually the only limitation i have found on android is that there are not enough different phones with different screen sizes that are running different versions of the same os version with different ui's and different configurations of the config data file.

Good luck.

Thank you madone for a good post and constructive input to this discussion (unlike some other people here).

I'm still on Froyo myself, so I better upgrade to check that out. Is that "Sync tasks" check box (rightmost screenshot) there also for Google accounts, or only Exchange?

Used MyPhoneExplorer app for the first time and haven't noticed any errors in Calendar or Tasks. Was so impressed that donated some euros to the developer.

After a year of e mail mismanagement and failed calendar syncs, I am convinced the best solution is to throw the Droid away. Shame on Verizon and Microsoft.

I haven't had any problem in syncing my Outlook calendar and tasks using MyPhoneExplorer. As far as the email management, yes, Android is far from the sophistication of BB.

I still haven't found anything in Android that's as useful as Outlook's ability to have recurring tasks with alarms, which would seem to be a pretty basic function. Even my last Windows Mobile phone had that.

As far as everything else goes-
Email - K9
Calendar - Jorte
Notes - Evernote

MyPhoneExplorer allows for tasks with reminders. I'm not sure about the recurrent tasks, but recurrent calendar events is no problem.

Unfortunately, K9, which I use, doesn't allow to set POP3 mail to be pushed. I confess that couldn't figure out Jorte, but Business Calendar Pro works fine for me.

After 9 months of syncing problems I'm prepared to get rid of the Droid X and go back to Blackberry. Verizon Wireless and Motorola and Microsoft should be ashamed of themselves for not creating an app.

Have you tried MPE as suggested by others (and me)?
