So ive had Rc9 for a little while now. I have noticed that every time i unlock or activate my screen. The Gps icon flashes up for a brief minute then disappears? This is very strange because i have gps turned OFF!! Only time i use gps is with Google tracks, i turn it on before i use the app then turn it off again????

Anyone have a idea?

Could it be anything to do with google latitude? From what i can fathom out on the web, all you need is a mobile device with google maps v3.0 (which i do) Even though its not activated in the uk. Maybe everythings in place for the off??

I've got the same symptoms, but it's not just GPS, it's also Wifi. I have the "ToggleWifi" app installed and it'll show you an icon if wifi is on but you're not connected to any networks. Both these come on at once.

Not sure that Google Latitude would be interested in Wifi. I suspect it's either something in RC9 or it's something in one of the apps I have installed.

Do you have Locale installed? I noticed after RC9 that I was notified of tonnes of updates to the apps I have installed. Perhaps one of these apps (I suspect Locale) is using these features to determine your location when the phone is woken up.

I haven't checked out the updates in Locale but I wouldn't be surprised if they added in some means of determining your location based on any nearby wifi networks as GPS doesn't work in doors anyway...
