I have a g1 and like a few others i've read about when I created the gmail account for the phone i promptly forgot the username I used, because I don't use gmail for my email. Since the g1 account creation doesn't prompt you to add a secondary email, Google offers no method of recovering the account name. Greeeeat.... none of this would really be an issue except my screen lock kept "pocket unlocking" last night, enough to require the account/pwd to unlock it...

after literally hours of trying different possible username combinations on the gmail password recovery tool, I'm out of ideas, and looking for SOME way to get the unlock to go back to asking for the pattern instead of username/pwd, or someone to have a better way to recover the username that the g1 is looking for. I am positive I know the password, just not the username... I have a few gmail accounts linked to one of my emails, but when I log into them, there is no contact information stored, thus they are not the account the g1 is using.
Could there possibly be a way to bypass the screen lock without hard resetting the phone? (if i hard reset it, and I don't know the gmail account, I'll lose all my contact information)
Also, if i do have to hard reset, will it re-lock my unlocked g1?
