1) there is an app that lets you send messages to multiple contacts, i dont know about mms but the app is free.
2) i dropped my phone twice both on asphalt and no scratches just some scuffs on the plastic
3) you will easily get the hang of it, at first i was flipping through screens trying to find something, and now i easily pull up anything i need on demand.
4) one thing i plan on getting is the invisible shield screen protector but other than that i don't need any thing else... it comes with a microfiber case and thats what i use..

I can send mms and pictures to multiple contacts but when they reply they do not seem to be threaded like when I send a single mms.
#2. is it easy to break if dropped? shud i get a good case for it?
Hmmm...that's a hard one, I guess it all depends on how hard you drop it and on the surface. Mine slipped out of the case it came with as I reached for a light switch and fell on my tile floor (I still shudder at the thought) it didn't break and everything works fine but the screen looks a smidge crooked when I open it, but its not very noticeable at all. I wouldn't say the phone is excessively fragile or anything like that.

I think the G1 interface is easier to use than any of the smart phones I have owned previously. It comes with a manual and easy start guide that should point you in the right direction.
#4. if i get this phone what are sum accessories i should get to make the use of my phone better?
I haven't found many cases that don't add too much bulk for my liking, and the rubbery ones tend to be lint magnets and make it a pain to get the phone in and out of a pouch or pocket. I would try a zagg invisible shield or bestskinever and maybe use the case it comes with until it gets stretched out, that's when my phone fell out . I have seen a few pouches that I like but it is a little hard to hear my phone ring when its tucked away, but I guess it all depends on what you like .
Hope that helps some.

you can also download the user manual. Just google "G1 User Manual" and you can look through it before you buy it.

Like all phones, if you know anyone with one, ask if you can play around with it. I love the G1, some think there is to much stuff for them. Now on to your ???
1) Multi mms or sms is possible, and is a little different then my previous phones (I just went down a list and clicked who I wanted) now it is more like sending an email. You start to type in the name/ number and then 'add' them. I like this feature more personally. Because if you dont know all the numbers, after just a few letters typed it has a drop down menu of people to select. Just touch the screen and they are added)
2) While dropping any phone is not good. I have a couple of times and everything has been ok. It all depends on where, when, how though. Dropping it into a toilet, well I dont care what phone you have - thats not good.... lol. The case it comes with flat out sucks, so go looking for a good one. I have a hard flip case that can take a good fall (metal ends), but as Nosferatiua stated, I cant hear the phone go off unless Im in a low noise area. The set up for the speaker, isnt designed well for this type of case. But I rather have safety first.
3) getting used to the phone. well I must admit, I dont like to look at manuals to much, I am more hands on. I have spent at least 4 hours plus a day toying around with it to see what features it has. The more I find out the more I like it. Now, of course, I spend more time showing everyone else what it can do....
4) Last, as far as accessories, that is up to you. If you feel you have used a bunch with all your phones, you will most likely feel the need here too. Myself, a bluetooth device, and a car charger is all I have extra. (and the case) The headphones that came with it are fine for me. You might want a screen cover depending on the case you get.
Good luck on your choice.

There are programs that allow you to SAVE apps onto the SD Card, but as of now you cannot INSTALL them to the SD Card. For whatever reason, that functionality isn't available on the G1...
However, if you want to go to the trouble of getting root access to your phone, I believe there is a way to install apps to the SD Card. Keep in mind that hacking your phone could very well violate your service agreement, definitely voids your warranty, and could turn your phone into a useless brick.

As far as I can tell it has updated the radio (whatever that means)... I also believe (although haven't tested) that you can now save images from MMS messages?
