Every program has to go through testing before its considered final, i.e. Beta Testing, so a lot of times they have open or closed testing. In your case, it was open beta which meant anyone who wanted to could test it and then give feedback. Closed beta are when select few are picked to test the product out. As you see, the market on the G1 is still considered in beta because it's not final, they have a lot still to do to make it better. Hope me and Lando helped
