Hey All: Got a brand new Droid Bionic and learning something new every day.. I do have a question about an app that I can use like a Word document, that I can edit on my computer and update to my phone? Does anything like that exist? I want to generate a library of all my DVD's that I can load on to my Droid that will be available any time I want to buy a new one.. Hard to keep track of the 100+ that I have and surely do not want to manually add something like that to my Droid... Any ideas?

Thanks.... Lori

Hi Lori,
Long-time Droid user here, and Droid Bionic owner as well.

First, for your question about an app that you can use like Word, I would recommend using Google Docs. It's the most seamless and simple way to store and update and edit word documents from your phone, and on the computer. Go to YouTube and watch a tutorial on how to use Google Docs if you are confused on how to use it, and then watch a video showing you how to use it on your phone. Hope that helps!

Next, for your question about your DVD's, the phone actually comes with an app pre-loaded onto it called ZumoCast, which you will find on the last page of your apps in the app-drawer. There will be instructions on how to use it when you open the app. It will tell you to sign up for the service (which is free) download the ZumoCast program onto your computer, and then connect both your computer and phone to the same wireless network. From here, you will be able to access and view audio/video/word documents on your phone from your computer, wirelessly. However you will only be able to view these items on your phone when you are on the same wireless network. BUT- when you go to the file (in your case, a movie) you can long-press on the file and select "download," which will save the file directly to your phone. You noted that you want to keep track of 100+ DVDs- you will certainly not be able to store 100+ dvd's on your phone, because there simply just isn't enough storage space. If you are able to store them all on your computer's hard-drive, then you may access them all from the ZumoCast app on your phone, and download them if you wish, but you will most likely be able to hold 2 of them at a time, and not much more storage will be left on your phone.

If you wish to watch a movie on your phone, I would recommend downloading it through the ZumoCast app to your phone, and then delete the file from your phone once you are done watching it, so that your storage is not filled up.

Hope I helped!

Oh I understand. Another good app you could use for your DVD issue is Evernote. I use it religously for To-Do lists and things like that. You download the computer version first for free and the the Android app for free. Very easy to use and very helpful. The documents you create on that will sync directly to your phone/computer and will be constantly updated.
